I learned about key aspects of photography when doing Part I of the Intro Visual Assignment. I experimented with different lightings, angles, and colors for the Photo Safari.
My favorite part of this unit was obviously, the storytelling. I enjoyed combining fond memories with various forms of media like sound and images, allowing me to transform my stories and hopefully engage with my readers more effectively.
However, what surprised me the most was how time-consuming and challenging it was to make everything work together smoothly.Finding the right images or videos to support my posts took longer than I expected. Also, formatting posts and making sure everything looked clean and at least decent on the blog added extra time. What drove me absolutely crazy were the technical issues, especially when media didn’t upload properly, or my slow WiFi was being extra difficult.
On the other hand, writing the actual stories came easier than I thought it would. Once I had an idea in mind and the visuals to go with it, the words started to flow.
- The Day the Eiffel Tower Froze (3 stars)
- The Four Seasons and Me (3 stars)
- The Snorer (2 stars)
- Oh, How I’d Love to Go to Paris Again (2 stars)
Despite all that, I really enjoyed the creative freedom of this project. Being able to choose what I wanted to write about, finding visuals that matched my tone, and crafting stories that felt personal and expressive was a deeply satisfying experience.
