This week focused on learning elements of design and I gained a deeper understanding of how each component contributes to visual communication. I applied what I read about Vignelli, a renowned designer, and used my knowledge in the Design Blitz.
I had more fun this week with the Design Assignments’ prompts and really explored editing.

Learning about the elements of design, like balance, color, and typography, really opened my eyes to how much thought goes into even the simplest visual choices. I learned how these elements work together to create focus and emotion in a design. What surprised me was how challenging it can be to use color effectively. Picking the right combinations and understanding how colors interact was harder than I expected. On the other hand, using line and shape came more naturally and I found it easier to play around with structure and layout. What drove me a little crazy was trying to make everything feel cohesive without it looking too busy or too plain. But I really enjoyed experimenting with layering because it added a whole new level of depth to the piece.
